Note: In this context asian is referring to Vietnamese and Chinese. Korean and Japanese markets have high quality, but more expensive goods.

When I typically shop, I go to many supermarkets. My traditional run is the asian supermarket, american supermarket, and then occasionally costco. However I noticed something a bit odd about the asian supermarkets lately.

Non-asian people.

For some reason lately, I have begun to see a lot more non-asian people shopping at the asian supermarket. If you have ever been to an asian market, you will notice dirt cheap prices, at the cost of quality. I would recommend sticking with the vegetables and asian herbs while skipping the fruits.

My guess is that higher prices in american markets are forcing people to look for cheaper alternatives. Is this a sign that the economy is hurting?
