maroon 5 concert and los angeles hang out
November 10th, 2007 by shinzu
About four months ago, my friends and I got tickets to yesterdays Maroon 5 concert. That’s right.. four freaking months ago. So you can only imagine how crazy excited I was to see them yesterday. Before going to the concert, my concert buddy Shandiz and I took the afternoon off work to do some la exploring before meeting up Jennie, Terry, Leo, and Daniel.
We first went to West Hollywood to the Abbey for some lunch. It was sort of cold, so there weren’t that many people there (but had some hot guys in the restaurant though). As we were eating, we saw this couple walk out, and Shandiz thinks it was Milo from 24!
We then headed over to Mashti Malone’s Ice Cream shop. I was looking at Yelp, and decided to check it out.
Turns out, this place is actually Iranian, and had several Iranian deserts there. I had ‘rosewater icecream.’ Rosewater is like some extract from roses, so it has a nice smell, and a light flavor. The ice cream I ate here was REALLY good.
Next stop was the Griffith Observatory. It is now open to drive straight up, so you don’t have to take a shuttle anymore.
The observatory recently got remodeled last year, so if you haven’t checked it out, it is definitely worth your time. And did I mention admission is free?
A funny simulation we were playing around with.
For dinner, we went to go meet up the rest of the group and Hollywood and Highlands. Jennie noticed a dead palm tree which is something I haven’t seen before.
Wouldn’t you think they would quarantine this off?
We ate at some restaurant around the area, which was okay, and had crappy service.
The concert started at 8pm, but opened with The Hives and some other band I don’t remember. We arrived just in time for The Hives to perform, but we didn’t really like them. Afterwards Adam Levine came onto the stage.
First off, our seats were AWESOME. We had floor seats, about half way down. On the floor, you can totally tell the difference of the energy with everyone dancing and singing along.
Maroon 5 simply was amazing. In all the songs they played, they remixed the beats slightly, and did a lot of electric guitar solos and mixes. Also, when Adam Levine came on stage, he had a bald head! Regardless, he was still super hot.

Overall, it was an awesome night. After the concert we all pretty much couldn’t hear anything.
