the best 5 dollars i’ve ever spent

On my last birthday, my friend gave me a gift certificate to bevmo. Bevmo in essence is a liquor store that has wine and beer. When I first went in I was like whoa… so much wine.
Ever since then, I’ve been addicted to this store buying various wines. One of the people who worked there told me they had 5 dollar wine tastings on Saturdays from 12 - 6pm (the time may vary on your bevmo). For the tastings, they give you EIGHT 2 ounce pours. In a typical wine bar, that would be like 20 to 30 dollars.
In front of every bevmo store, they describe what the schedule is. If you read the sign, there is actually beer tastings on Friday which I haven’t tried out.

They even give you wine glasses and cheese.
What is very cool about this experience that if you are a noob like me, you can ask questions about the wines, and mingle with the servers and other people in the tastings. I even got a listing of wine bars near my place which I never knew existed.
The whole process lasted about an hour. Unfortunately for me I was buzzed after the tastings so I walked around Staples and Ross a little bit for it to wear off hehe. If you want to learn about wines this is a great thing to try.
