things that shouldn’t belong together
In the past couple of months, there have been some weird things that have happened, and it sorta served as the motivation for this post. If applicable, I’ll try to provide a backstory.
vietnamese meatballs (bo vien) + spaghetti

Story:
One day my mom asked my dad to make spaghetti and meatballs. My dad was pretty busy one day, and he made the dish. When I came home, I was like “coool.. spaghetti.” But when I looked at it, it was vietnamese meatballs in the spaghetti sauce. I was pretty much laughing a lot at this point, but my dad was freaking out because he knew my mom would be mad that my dad used vietnamese meatballs instead of regular italian meatballs. Well, I helped fish all of the vietnamese meatballs out and replace them with real meatballs. So at dinner that night, that was our little secret between my dad and myself hehe.
tabasaco + pho

Story:
A while back I was reading in the Orange County Register of an experiment of swapping siracha and tabasco sauce. Like, siracha is used in pho, and tabasco is used in eating a lot of meats. So, they had an experiment where they swapped the spices where pho had tabasco and steak had siracha. To say at the least, the writer of the article said the steak was ok, but the pho was plain nasty.
