Thanksgiving

Currently, I am writing this post in the back seat of my
parent’s car with my lappy going home from my uncle’s house with a beautiful
sunset occurring.

I have a different ‘family’ here in the states.
Well technically, I have no first blood in the United States.  But regardless, I still call those family
close to me ‘cousins’ and the older folk my ‘aunts’ and ‘uncles’.

Anyways, it has probably been a couple months since I have
seen all of the cousins together and I was just thinking how my life seems to
occur in a sine wave.  Back then in the
day I used to be really close to my cousins as kids, then later on in jr high
we drifted, and then high school we saw each other again and etc.

When we all saw each other again this time, I definitely felt some closeness
again.  One of my cousins has fully
recovered from his leukemia, my other cousin has been married for a couple
years, and some of my other cousins brought their significant others.  We laughed, dogged some other family members
for being stupid
(another side story) and watched the old people get drunk.

I just think its funny how easy it is to reconnect with certain people when you
haven’t seem them in a long time.  That’s
why I think these holidays are important.. you can see and say hi to people you
haven’t seen in a long time without getting the vibe of ‘hey why are you
calling me now…’.

I encourage all of you guys and gals to go call or talk to someone you’ve
haven’t seen in a while this holiday season.
Tis the season to be with friends and family.

Happy thanksgiving everyone.
