Well.. a big weekend for me.. let me recap.

Recently, I put a couple ads out to sell my Civic, and on Wednesday I finally got a buyer who was serious.  We agreed on an offer that day, and also agreed to finish the transaction tommorow.  This was about 7 o’clock.  Then I realized that I would actually have to prep the car up before buying it.  So.. I instant message Dong and Rick about 8 o’clock, and they both come over to help me out.. 4 to 5 hours later, my car is prepped up for sale.. we had to switch audio from my car to my brother’s car cuz I put new speakers, amps, a sub, and crossovers in my car.  All I can say is Rick and Dong.. you guys are the bomb.. without your guys help I would not be able to finish the transaction on Thursday.

On Thursday, I hadta install a cd player in my Civic <cuz err.. it got busted.. mysteriously through me forgetting that my wire harness was still wired to my amp even though there was no amp there> so I left early.  I heard there was a cute girl interviewing that day and I had to leave early.. darn.

When I saw the guy later that afternoon to buy my car, it was a little fishy.. This was his second time seeing the car and he still didn’t test drive it.  We signed forms in the title, and the dmv vehicle transfership form and he gave me a cashier’s check <cashier’s check is treated like cash basically>.  By the way, what I didn’t know, is when you sell a car, you HAVE to get a smog check on the car before selling it so you can transfer the title.  Without it the car cannot be transferred to someone else.

Now Friday rolling around, I have no car and started my car shopping.  Rick took me to Weir Canyon Acura where he knows some people there.  After MANY hours of haggling, I finished up a deal where I got an Acura 2004 TSX.. my new baby hehe.  The options I got with the car were Nav, mp3, spoiler, and all-terrain floor mats.  Pictures and mods to be shown in the future <i’m most likely gonna do an lcd hack where i hook my dreamcast or computer up to the lcd screen, and another hack where i can hook my ipod up to the car>

It’s funny cuz in Rich Dad Poor Dad, the book states that a car is an impractical financial purchase.  And I agree with them.  When you drive the car off the lot, your car has just depreciated 3,000 bucks.  However, one thing that is important when buying a car, is you are not buying the car for financial security. You are buying the car cuz it’s pimp and you like it, and it’s your ride.  If you think about it this way, what transportation are we in for many hours through the week.. our car.  And if we can, we might as well take advantage of the opportunity to drive a nice car, even though it has risk of depreciating.  One of my favorite sayings is despite trying to live through ideal paradigms, we “choose and pick our battles.”

That night, I went to go watch Kill Bill 2.. considering this screen play was an extension of the first one, I thought it was very good.  If this movie stood alone by itself, I wouldn’t think of it as very good.

Finished off the weekend with eating Dim Sum with co-workers and with some high school friends Sunday morning.. nothing better yum yum.

Ben, me, and Eugene at Pechenga.  I only had ONE long island and got buzzed… blah

My new car.. of course I didn’t take this picture hehe, but more pics to come =).
