Sorry everyone for not posting recently =)… well.. so hmm.. whats new.. I’ve been watching this news about the strike, and they were talking about how customers have to decide whether or not to “cross the picket line,” and how most young people have never experienced it.. you can say that again.  I went to vons to go get some milk on the way home, and I “crossed the picket line.”  Damn, people are pretty damn vocal.  When I went in I was like whooooa… There must’ve been less than 10 people in the entire store.  It was like walking in a barren wasteland.  Also the employees inside seemed rather bitter about those outside.

As for my take on the issue, I am honestly quite surprised on how much they get paid to begiin with AND they get benefits.  Many of the arguments against the strike are that health care costs are rising, and who do you pass the buck too?  Obviously the consumers would be vinidicated if a pound of bananas costed 2 dollars.  Well.. just my opinion, but I think they have quite a good side to begin with.

At work recently, I’ve been working on a design on a tool they need.  After I talked with my boss about it, I told her that the second deadline she gave me was infeasible given the number of people working.  So she said, go ahead and hire a full time person or a contractor.  After that I was quite dumbfounded.. like.. me?  She said that cuz the person being hired would need to work with me, and be compatible with my work ethics.  It’s pretty kew, the senior developer gave me a batch of resumes and asked me what I thought of them.  I never imagined that I would have the chance to critique resumes.. its a pretty trippy experience.  I know I shouldn’t let this power-trip get to my head, but I feel grateful that I’ve earned the respect to have some say in a decision-making process.

Last Friday I think, I met up with the yesnet! association of Raytheon Fullerton.  It’s basically a club for young people there and such.  I gotta admit, starting over with a new job and new co-workers is always hard, but its sorta kew to see new bonds form.  Even though I doubt it will ever be as strong as my friends from my old work, its always good meeting new people.

On the super plus side, castlevania lament of innocence and megamanx7 came out on the ps2!  Time for me to copy and rot my brains this weekend hehe.
